Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
Since the winter term 2000/2001 the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and the Technical University Munich jointly offer an international and interdisciplinary bioinformatics program as “Bachelor” and “Master of Science” course. The studies target likewise the education in biology and chemistry as well as in informatics. More information on the joint program can be found here: www.bioinformatik-muenchen.de.
Our department hosts the labs of Prof. Julien Gagneur (Assistant Professor) and Prof. Burkhard Rost (Department Chair). For information on the research, services, publications, job offers and much more, please have a look at the lab`s websites:
The Rostlab can be found at rostlab.org. The lab's research is driven by a conviction that protein and DNA sequences encode a significant core of information about the ultimate structure and function of genetic material and its gene products.
The Gagneurlab studies the genetic basis of gene regulation and its implication in diseases. Visit our lab webpage at gagneurlab.in.tum.de for more details.
Joint Oberseminar: this winter term the departments I12 (Gagneurlab) and M12 (Prof. Theis) offer a joint Oberseminar. Please find the announcement of the next talks here.
